Some common terms for rolling bearings

Some common terms and definitions of rolling bearings, mainly including rolling bearings, radial bearings, thrust bearings, ball bearings, roller bearings, etc.:

General theory of rolling bearings:

  1. Rolling bearing: a bearing that makes rolling motion between the supporting load and the parts moving relative to each other, which includes parts with raceways and rolling element groups with or without isolation or guide parts, which can be used to bear radial, axial or combined radial and axial loads;

  2. Single row bearing: rolling bearing with a row of rolling elements;

  3. Double row bearing: rolling bearing with two rows of rolling elements;

  4. Multi-row bearing: rolling bearing with more than two rows of rolling elements bearing the load in the same direction, it is best to indicate the number of rows and bearing type, for example: "four rows of radial cylindrical roller bearings";

  5. Full mounted rolling element bearing: for bearings without cages, the sum of the clearances between the circumferential directions of each row of rolling elements is less than the diameter of the rolling elements and is as small as possible, so that the bearings have good performance;

  6. Angular contact bearing: rolling bearing with nominal contact angle greater than 0° and less than 90°;

  7. Self-aligning bearing: a raceway is spherical, can adapt to the angular deviation and angular movement between the axial line of the two raceways;

  8. Separable bearings: rolling bearings with separable parts;

  9. Non-separable bearings: rolling bearings that cannot be arbitrarily separated freely after the final assembly;

  10. Inch bearing: the original design of the dimensions and tolerances of the rolling bearing expressed in imperial units;

  11. Open bearing: rolling bearing without dust cover and sealing ring;

  12. Sealing ring bearing: rolling bearing with sealing ring on one or both sides;

  13. Dust cover bearing:rolling bearings with shields on one or both sides.

  14. Closed bearing: rolling bearing with one or two sealing rings, one or two dust covers, one sealing ring and one dust cover;

  15. Lubricated bearings: rolling bearings that have been filled with lubricant in the manufacturer;

  16. Instrument precision bearing: special rolling bearing for instrument;

        17. Assembled bearings: Matched into a pair or a group of rolling bearings.
