Rod ends consist of an eye-shaped head with integral shank that forms a housing for a spherical plain bearing. They are used primarily on the ends of hydraulic or pneumatic pistons to join the cylinder to an associated component.

The rod ends (d≤18mm) contain brass inserts between housing and inner ring spherical surface. The rod ends (d≥20mm) contain a spherical plain bearing with a steel/brass sliding contact surface. Sizes 6 and larger can be relubricated via a grease fitting in the housing and via the shank.

The rod end is a self-aligning slide bearing that uses a spherical inner ring with the same level of accuracy and hardness as bearing steel balls. With the combination of a spherical inner ring whose sliding surface is mirror-finished and a holder with a practical design, the rod end ensures play-free, extremely smooth rotation and oscillation.
